BYU Industrial Design student wins IDSA Regional Merit Award

BYU Industrial Design student Janna Budge won the 2011 Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Western Regional Student Merit Award. Janna was chosen to represent BYU by a group of professional designers and competed with 14 other IDSA recognized design programs in the western region and is one of 5 students in the country to win this award. She officially received the reward at the IDSA international design conference held this year in New Orleans.

In addition to her studies at BYU, Janna’s design education included two internships; her first internship with Rocketship in Provo, UT and her second with Ziba in Portland OR. “I got to see several of my projects go from proposal to the shelf. It helped me to put everything I was learning in school into context. I learned to trust in the design process and gained a greater appreciation for the business side of design.”

Janna is working as a designer in San Francisco, CA.
