Born in Mexico City, Mexico, Mauricio Romano is a multicultural industrial designer currently working for Facebook's virtual reality company, Oculus. He is an award-winning and internationally recognized creative, graduating from Western Washington University as the Outstanding Graduate and recognized as IDSA's 2015 Student Merit award for the Western U.S. conference. After graduation Mauricio worked for San Francisco's Astro Studios, successfully co-launched a cannabis hardware company, dabbled in freelance-land, and finally arrived at Oculus. With experience having worked in corporate, independent, and consulting settings, Mauricio's skill-set spans across multiple disciplines working with numerous teams, factories, and companies. At his core, Mauricio finds deep appreciation for the human psyche and how we interact with the world around us. Industrial design is the practice of improving old tools and discovering new ones.
