Tyler Anderson

Intent focuses on promoting a healthier relationship between us and our smartphones. The concept is based on a principle derived from addiction psychology; replacing a bad habit with a better one is much more effective than simply trying to ignore the bad habit.
Intent highlights the physical hardware of the smartphone by isolating it for an intented use - a lamp and a speaker box. By giving the phone a function when it’s not in use, we replace the action of using our device, instead of simply ignoring the device.

Garrett Hazen

In his senior thesis research, Garrett has discovered a link between playfulness and well-being. In an attempt to encourage playful and healthy behaviors in the modern workplace, he is designing a desk toy robot companion that encourages taking breaks and records how long you sit/stand throughout your day at your desk job. As the saying goes, "All work and no play makes JAQ a dull BOT."

Kelsey Roberts

Technology has changed the way we work. We can access work from anywhere through smartphones, tablets, and laptops. This phenomenon is called the Virtual Office. How can design approach this new experience of working? Virtual Office workwear is a humorous approach to suiting up for remote working. From video chats at local coffee shops, making calls on the bus, answering emails while watching Netflix in bed, these wearables bring to light the distinct quirks remote workers face.
